Easy
on the ears!
Reviewer: Joyce S.
Also Known As has a nice variety of music. Being totally uninspired
by most of the music that's out today, I find this to be a refreshing
change. Check it out!
Something for everyone.
Reviewer: Michele
I love the CD. I got it today, that was quick. As for Give Sorrow Words,
the chorus is incredibly beautiful especially the image of the bird
flying away representing our loved ones, very visual and memorable Thank
You. Eyes Wide is my favorite, Heartbeat best for commercial type hit
song release and I like the irony in Tradewinds and River of Dreams
would be good country cross-over hit. Something for everyone. Great
Job, Fun to listen to! Keep writing and playing!
Very cool 70s vibe!
Reviewer: D. S. Parr
Ryan is a very talented singer/songwriter/musician. If you are a fan
of music from the 70s, this is definitely a CD you will want to own.
I'm back home
Reviewer: Heather Doig
It is so great to revisit the past and know some things will always
be familiar! Having known Ryan, Jimmy and some of these songs from over
15 years ago, older songs carry me away in my imagination as they always
have, and the songs new to me will become fast favorites.
Toe-Tapping Easy Listening
Reviewer: Linda
Great easy listening, toe-tapping sound for the 30+ generation. I listened
to the CD all the way through and by the second time I was singing along.
A smorgasbord of enjoyment- supremely entertaining!!
Reviewer: M. Tyson
With the deep, heartfelt emotion of Give Sorrow Words showcased in the
same CD as the fun and upbeat Knock the Ball Outta the Park, this CD
has it all! It's really difficult to choose a favorite from the plethora
of enjoyable tunes in this wonderfully written and performed ensemble.
However- if I had to choose just one, I'd choose four: Heartbeat, Give
Sorrow Words, Eyes Wide and Been Here Before. RMG has a major winner
with this one! You will inevitably listen to this CD over and over again-
trust me!
ALSO KNOWN AS is a "must-have" for anyone old enough to read
this.
Reviewer: Dave Turtletaub
This CD carries you along like a road trip you've been looking forward
to for months. The mood of each and every song pulls you in and makes
you glad it did. Whether it's RIVER O' RUNNIN' or THIS TABLE or GIVE
BACK THE NIGHT, the attraction is compelling. Do yourself a favor and
give this CD a spin. In no time at all, you'll be drawn in, too!
Excellent, entertaining, unique
Reviewer: Scott Atkins
This is a very entertaining CD with a collection of unique songs that
make you want to play them over and over again. Most are songs that
you want to sing along with after you learn the words. Galloway has
a sound that is not totally rock while not exactly country. A distinctive
sound not commonly heard. The baseball song is bound to become famous.
Proof that good musicianship and style never die.
Reviewer: C. Aaron Moore
The wonderful thing about independent music releases is that, by and
large, they usually showcase the music of genres that been overshadowed
by over-marketed pop that has no substance. Also Known As qualifies
as a rare gem in this regard, because it showcases a style of music
still revered by many, but having few public champions to still keep
recording in the classic/album/country rock eras. Like his many influences
such as James Taylor, Ryan has managed to take songs like River of Runnin'
or No Other One and show dynamic and gentle range, while still being
able to cut loose with Knock The Ball Outta The Park. Among these that
is the best lyrically and musically is the memorable Been Here Before,
my personal favorite on the album. If independence can truly equal individual
unique sprituality, then this album is an example of how it would sound
in one way or another.
One
of those hidden gems!
Reviewer: Steve - Florida
Ever spend an afternooon at the store with headphones on listening to
music you don't hear on the radio? Every once in a while you find a
hidden gem that you just love. This CD is one of those. Great style
and good lyrics with an old school feel. Reminds me of the good old
days when life was easy. Buy it, relax and enjoy !!
Wow! Finally some REAL music to listen to!
Reviewer: Steve
Finally something worth listening to! This CD has it all, from fun rock
[Knock the Ball (Outta the Park)] and Been There Before, to thought-provoking
ballads like This Table and Give Sorrow Words. A 70's style that truely
fits in the new Millennium and worth every penny!
Takes you back to a great time and place!!
Reviewer: MaryJean
The music is sweet...close your eyes and you're immediately transformed
back to a time of rich memories. Sit back, relax and listen. It's worth
the trip!
Good compilation of songs on this CD!
Reviewer: Jackie K
The lyrics have meaning to them and most of us can relate to them. Acoustics
and vocals are exceptional!
Reviewer: Sue
Love the originality of the lyrics and the music, especially Knock the
Ball Outta the Park.
The sound keep you coming back for more!
Reviewer: Tom RIntoul
My first listen was for roughly 2 minutes on my laptop player. The next
3 minutes were on my laptop with the headphones I immediately plugged
in. The remainder of the CD was listened to on my home system after
giving Ryan Michael Galloway: Also Known As a permanent spot in my Sony
CD carousel. The CD brings back melodies from some of my past favorites
and adds a new and very interesting twist to them that I can share with
my children. Seldom do you get the sound quality and content in a CD
that you can listen to from one end to the other without pause. This
one is a keeper.
Fun!
Reviewer: Collette
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this CD. The vocals were great, and
the music was upbeat, entertaining, and full of talent. Sure to become
one of my favorites!
Great blend of easy-listening and rock
Reviewer: Joe
Man on the Moon brings back those great memories of sitting in my beanbag
chair, with my headphones on, listening closely to every word, so I
could sing along with the artist. This CD reminds me of the earlier
James Taylor classics.
A true pleasure
Reviewer: Rob H., in Milwaukee
I took a close listen to this CD and found it extraordinary in every
regard. The songwriting was superb--"formulaic", but with
enough twists and surprises to make the songs truly his, interesting,
and unique. The vocals were exceptional, especially on the ballads,
where I thought he really shined. I love the harmony guitar leads. The
recording and mastering was top shelf - I wouldn't have asked to adjust
a single fader - (unusual for my critical "engineering" ear.)
A true pleasure. My favorite has to be River O Running, and I
can relate to Tradewinds.
A collection of songs I'll listen to again and again.
Reviewer: Cathy H.
My first impressions of the songs bring memories of great singer songwriters
such as Jackson Browne and Justin Hayward's solo work without the Moody
Blues. Both favorites of mine. This is definitely a collection of songs
I will listen to again and again; an outstanding job! I don't know what
else to say, except I enjoyed it tremendously.
Excellent, evocative
Reviewer: Karen
Wonderful songs that really touched me. I especially love Round This
Table. The songs and the music really speak to our times and what we're
all going through. The last song on the CD is an especially beautiful
love song. Ryan Michael Galloway plays the guitar and sings beautifully.
I recommend this CD without reservations.
