CD Albums: "Turning Point" Christopher Aaron Moore has many facets. He is an excellent keyboardist, a gifted composer, and a talented film director and editor. And now he's showing signs of having quite an expressive singing voice. A graduate of the Univeristy of North Texas Radio, TV, and Film program, Chris has taken his love of movies and music and fused them into his independent projects. Entirely self taught as a musician and sound recording artist, he has released three albums of music privately, composed the music score for an independent feature film planned for video release, and performed in cover bands. He currently performs solo as a musician and serves as a complete pre-through-post production solution on visual media projects for himself and other parties. Chris' latest CD release, Redemption, shows signs that most of these dimensions are aligned. Close your eyes and listen to his music (okay, if you're in the car--pull over) and you can easily start to visualize movie sequences. From chase scenes, to love scenes, they're all there. I predict it will only be a matter of time before you hear his music cropping up on soundtracks. As a film school grad, he has taken his knowledge of film into the music arena. He wrote, shot, and directed the soon-to-be-released "Give Sorrow Words" music video for me, edited my semi-self-shot "No Other One," and will start on a third video shortly. The fact that he is a director and a musician makes the projects just that much easier. Have you ever seen the movie Amadeus? There is a scene in which Mozart is ill and Solieri comes to help him score a piece. They start talking in musical shorthand, and are nearly reading each other's minds the whole way. Mix music and film together and infuse them into that scene, and you'll know what it's like for me to work with Chris (although I'm not trying to indicate that I am Chris' secret nemesis). Then--taking our ideas--he visualizes, organizes and realizes them. We're just getting warmed up. With each project, it just keeps getting better. You'll see Chris join me for an evening of playing from time-to-time, and it's well worth it to catch those shows for both his music and the fun we have interacting. Now if I can just get him to let me play a screamin' guitar lead in that ballad he just wrote. -RMG |
